- My company / offer: [YOUR COMPANY OR PRODUCT]
- Why I need this: [e.g. "prepping for a sales call," "deciding whether to enter their market," "board update"]
- Time horizon: [e.g. "last 12 months" or "last 90 days"]
RESEARCH THIS
1. Positioning: How do they describe themselves? What problem do they claim to solve?
2. Recent moves: Funding, leadership changes, product launches, partnerships, layoffs (last [X] months)
3. Pricing and packaging: What's public? Any signals on strategy shifts?
4. Customer signals: Reviews, complaints, case studies, churn signals if visible
5. Messaging: What do their website, LinkedIn, and recent press emphasize?
6. Gaps: Where do they seem weak, slow, or exposed?
FORMAT
- Executive summary: 3 bullets max
- One section per research area above, bullets only, no paragraphs
- End with: "3 things I'd exploit if I were competing against them"
RULES
- Cite where each claim came from (source name, not just "reports say")
- Flag anything you're inferring vs. confirmed
- If you don't have current info on something, say so. Don't guess.
