7 lessons from 7 years running Escomedia
This month marks 7 years since I started my business.
We’ve worked with some of the world’s biggest brands.
We’ve also had months with zero cash flow, late invoices, and burnouts.
Here are 7 lessons that have stuck with me:
1️⃣ It’s the people you work with, not the logos that matter.
A dream client isn’t the biggest name. It’s the one who respects your work, pays on time, and treats you like a partner.
2️⃣ Slow marketing > viral marketing
Long-term trust from podcast listeners > 15K views on a post that doesn’t convert.
3️⃣ Your network is your safety net
Former clients, podcast guests, collaborators, they’ve brought in 80% of our new business.
4️⃣ Invest in the right team (accountants, lawyers, etc.)
You can’t do it all. Surround yourself with people who are smarter than you in areas you’re not.
5️⃣ B2B doesn’t mean Boring-to-Boring.
Executives are humans too. They remember stories, not jargon.
6️⃣ Feel free to say no.
Not everything is worth your time. Focus only on what drives value for your business and your customers.
7️⃣ Out-teach the competition.
When you consistently educate, share, and simplify, you become the go-to. Not just another "vendor."
